Lyndalan is a romantic stone built Galloway cottage set
in the heart of the machars peninsula.In years gone by
Lyndalan was a small holding it was also used as a
workbase for cobblers and tailors.Children from the
former Longcastle school would also come and get a bowl
of soup or jammy peice for a penny.
The cottage has been refurbished to a high standard, yet
has retained much of its old charm and character with
exposed beams,original fire place with woodburning stove
and traditional farmhouse kitchen with natural stone
wall.The kitchen is equiped with a larder fridge, electric
rangemaster cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing
machine, toasted sandwich maker, toaster and a large
upright freezer.
The cottage offers two double bedrooms upstairs, the main one with en-suite toilet and shower. The downstairs
bathroom has a bath and electric shower.The spacious but cosy living room has a TV,VCR,DVD and CD player.
The beautiful sunroom has comfortable seating and looks out on the enclosed country cottage garden with
furniture and barbecue. There are electric storage heaters throughout the house as well as the wood burning stove.
There are no hidden charges for fuel, towels or linen everything is included in the price.
There is a large drive way to the rear of the cottage for off road parking.

The area has a dramatic coastline with vast areas of woodlands, forest, highlands and lowlands it is often described
as Scotland in miniture. It is a place full of artists, poets musicians and craftmakers.
There are many beautiful gardens to visit including logan botanic gardens full of the most exotic plants from warm
climates that can survive here because of the gulf stream.
Nearby Whithorn is one of the oldest towns in Scotland where St Ninian brought christianity in the fourth century.
Robert the Bruce was one of the many who made pilgramges here. The visitor centre and museum are well worth a
visit. Closer still is Wigtown Scotlands national booktown a great place to go on a rainy day with bookshops that
offer you coffee and a chair to browse in comfort. It is also known for its nature reserve ,bird hide and ospreys.
For those of a sporting nature the area offers sea angling, coarse fishing and shooting.
It is ideal for walkers ramblers, road and mountain bikers. There are also many golf courses.
